When I first tried this product, I really didn’t think I’d be writing a positive review. I thought it was a bandwagon gimick and my disastrous impression of dry shampoo from another major brand before left me expecting little from this product. To say I am impressed is an understatement. 
I have thick, dark brown hair and I am convinced it shows grease far quicker than blonde. As I live a pretty active lifestyle, I tend to wash my hair every second day – an improvement from a time when I was a daily washer. However, today, for the first time since I was a teenager, I have left it a third day and it still looks fresh and clean – not to mention smells delicious. Thank you, Batiste!
First and foremost, Batiste is the first cruelty-free, no animal-testing dry shampoo I have ever come across. Available here in Pennys and most pharmacies and supermarkets (Boots, Tesco etc.), and priced around €4 for a 500ml bottle, it really is worth trying. For ladies (or gents) with dyed hair, it can still be used and in fact claims to prolong colour and vibrancy as you’re not washing it so frequently. Additionally it comes in a wide range of fragrances so there’s an option for every taste (personally I’m not a florals fan so I recommend Tropical).
My only negative is that you might be best applying it with a mirror close by. Being too heavy handed with the application can leave white streaks that really don’t give the “born this way” look.

I found this left a residue on my dark brown hair that’s hard to brush out. It’s a pity because it’s inexpensive and readily available. I’ve been using a loose powder dry shampoo from a Canadian brand called “Cake Beauty” that comes in a dark brown shade:

It’s nice but doesn’t provide much volume, and is quite messy and not very portable. I recently discovered the one by amodelrecommends (Ruth Crilly) called CoLab and it is fantastic! No residue and it smells fantastic. I believe it should be available in Ireland.

I had the same issue at first with the residue, but I’m a lot lighter handed with it now and spray around my hair, rather than just on the roots/split. Then really tousle your hair to spread it evenly through. I haven’t heard of CoLab and we don’t have Superdrug in the Republic, but if it’s cruelty-free I’ll definitely give it a whirl xx
